On August 13, the Lake County Board of County Commissioners, by unanimous proclamation, designated September 8, 2024, as “Orlando Cat Café Day” in Lake County, Florida. September 8th marks the 8th anniversary for this unique concept, which to date has adopted over 2,700 cats and kittens to their forever homes.
“We are both thrilled and humbled by this honor,” says Jessica Whitehouse, Co-creator and manager of the Orlando Cat Café, who was on hand to accept the honor. The Orlando Cat Café was the first Cat Café to open in the State of Florida and to date has welcomed over 170,000 visitors from all over the world.
