Greetings! Back in December I asked you, my loyal readers, to
submit examples of what you would write to your cat if they could truly understand every word (note: we can). My in-box was inundated with responses, so much so that I had to cut short several naps just so I could log on! Here is just a sampling of the touching (and sometimes not so touching) submissions that I received:
Dear Monty – I can’t remember a time when you weren’t in my life. You have been there for every milestone – graduation, new homes, marriage and even the addition of a baby! You are a constant and soothing presence in my life and I love you so much!

Dear Messi,
Thank you for being such an amazing cat and giving my father the company he never knew he needed. Thank you for making us laugh and being so loving to us.
You are so special that even the new baby squirrels visit you at the window daily. Thank you for bringing joy into our lives and thank you to Orlando Cat Café for making a purr-fect match!
We love you Messi!
Love P
Dear Penelope – I know that you know that I know that you know that you are not supposed to be on the counter. Just sayin’….
Tom K.
Max – When I went into Orlando Cat Café that day back in May, I did not know that you were there waiting for me, but we both knew almost instantly that you/me were “the one”. You have brought more joy into my life than I deserve. I am so thankful that we found each other. You make my life complete!

Dear Pierre and Papi,
Pierre: thank you for supervising every room in the house like a middle-aged man on neighborhood watch. I appreciate your dedication to staring, judging, and alerting me to absolutely nothing. Your commitment to sniffing boo-boos, personal space, and my soul is unmatched.
Papi: thank you for being sweet, suspicious, and emotionally delicate. I admire how you require affection only on your terms, like a true cat, and how you pretend not to care while very clearly caring the most.
To both of you:
I promise to continue providing food, blankets, warmth, emotional support, and uninterrupted lap access — even when you sit on me like unpaid rent is due.
Happy Valentine’s Day, my little furry roommates.
I am yours forever. Please stop licking weird things.
Love,
Mom 💕🐾
